We are delighted to announce new dates for the end of 2022 starting Saturday 24th September. There's no previous stage experience necessary as our Foundation in Improv classes cover the core skills and tenets of Improvised performance; Yes And, Listening, Character, Story, Objects, Scene Work and Games. The course will be taught by Sean Mason and Brainne Edge.
Whether you're looking to start performing improv comedy, want to improve your listening and communication skills or just want to meet new people in a fun and friendly environment then this course is for you. Whatever your reason for taking a course, our Foundation in Improv workshops will help you learn new skills that can applied on stage and off.
The full cost of the course is just £115* and is limited to just 15 spaces. We continually work to keep workshops as affordable as possible. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need to set-up an alternative payment plan.
Workshops run Saturday Afternoons 12-2pm for 8 weeks at The University of Salford, New Adelphi Building. There are plenty of nearby parking options and the building is a short walk from Salford Crescent train station. The Campus is also accessible via bus (50, 51, V1, V2, 37, 38) from many locations.

We want everyone to feel safe and confident in our workshops. We strongly urge you to protect yourselves and others during the workshops, respecting the boundaries and personal decisions of all in attendance. Whilst masks are no longer mandatory we are happy for you to wear one if you prefer. All of our workshop facilitators will take a Lateral Flow Test before workshops and we advise attendees to do the same. We ask that you do not to attend if you are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms (please contact us if you are unable to attend a session). We will keep windows open within the space to allow air flow. We encourage distancing where space allows however some exercises may lead to closer physical proximity.
The 100 Black Improvisers Partnership is a joint venture among corporate sponsors, improv teachers, and improv schools/theaters around the world which are actively seeking diversity. By pledging to provide a minimum of five scholarships for Black students, each of us contributes to a common goal of getting 100 more Black people into Foundation Improv level workshops .

Sean Mason has been performing with ComedySportz since 2007. He has performed and taught improv to people of all ages and abilities. Sean is also an actor and director and teaches comedy performance techniques at the University of Salford. Sean has also has taught comedy writing and performance skills for several festivals including Manchester Literature Festival.
Brainne Edge started ComedySportz UK in 2001 and has since taught and performed improv skills around the world. She has taught improvisation at the University of Salford for the last 10 years and before that at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) for 4 years.
Our workshop facilitators have represented ComedySportz UK in the CSz World Championships and performed, taught and trained across the UK and beyond. They can't wait to meet you for this exciting digital improv course.
