Online Foundation Improv

COVID-19 UPDATE: All face-to-face workshops are cancelled for the foreseeable future. But that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop with our Improv Digital Drop-Ins, our online Foundation Improv course or our online Stand-Up Comedy courses! 

Try something new for 2021 with our Foundation Improv course starting Thursday 8th April.

There’s no previous experience necessary as our Foundation Improv classes cover the core skills and tenets of Improvised performance; Yes And, Listening, Character, Story, Objects, Scene Work and Games.

Whether you’re looking to start performing improv comedy, want to improve your listening and communication skills or just want to meet new people in a fun and friendly online environment then this course is for you. Adapted from our regular courses and tailored to online training, these Foundation Improv online workshops will help you learn new skills that can applied on stage and off.

The full cost of the course is just £75* and is limited to just 10 spaces. We continually work to keep workshops as affordable as possible. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need to set-up an alternative payment plan.

Online group sessions will run Thursday evenings 7-9pm for six weeks. You will receive the link to each session via email – check your junk folder if you haven’t received it!

Black Improv Alliance

The 100 Black Improvisers Partnership  is a joint venture among corporate sponsors, improv teachers, and improv schools/theaters around the world which are actively seeking diversity. By pledging to provide a minimum of five scholarships for Black students, each of us contributes to a common goal of getting 100 more Black people into Foundation Improv level workshops by July 2021.

About Sean and Lukas:

Sean Mason has been performing with ComedySportz since 2007. He has performed and taught improv to people of all ages and abilities. Sean is also an actor and director and teaches comedy performance techniques at the University of Salford. Sean has also has taught comedy writing and performance skills for several festivals including Manchester Literature Festival.

Lukas Kirkby has been an improviser with CSzUK since 2013 and regularly teaches on both their foundation and intermediate improv courses. Lukas also teaches improv for Laugh at Leeds and annually as part of Leicester Comedy Festival’s Laugh Term. As well as with CSzUK, Lukas performs with longform improv troupe Murder Inc. and kid’s show Anything Could Happen.

Both Sean and Lukas have represented ComedySportz UK in the CSz World Championships and performed, taught and trained across the UK and beyond. They can’t wait to meet you for this exciting digital improv course.
