It's a very busy month for The Totally Improvised Company with appearances at two major UK festivals! Tickets for all events are on sale now.
ComedySportz is heading to Illuminate: Festival of Ideas in Kirkby Lonsdale this month. With two weeks of theatre, comedy, film, talks, exhibitions and conversation, the festival has something for everyone! We’re hoping for great suggestions that can spark some quick-witted shenanigans on Saturday 7th February!
Later in the month, we’re back at Leicester Comedy Festival with ComedySportz, The Totally Improvised Musical and Sean’s solo show Going Coastal with Donald McGinty. Leicester Comedy Festival 2026 boasts over 700 shows with its partner UK Kids Comedy Festival featuring over 70 shows. The festival runs from February 4th to 22nd with events across the city.
As well as shows there are talks, events and workshops to get people involved in comedy and championing new talent. We’ve picked up awards nominations two years in a row (Best Variety Show - Totally Improvised Musical, Best Kids Show - ComedySportz) and we can’t wait to be back at Europe’s biggest comedy festival!
Finally, we're also getting ready for Greater Manchester Improv Festival 2026. We are delighted to announce that team applications open today. Groups and shows should apply here (workshop applications will open later). Applications close at midnight 22nd February 2026.
Our first festival hosted sixteen shows spread across two spaces covering a broad range of styles and formats. As well as shows there were four workshops with something for all levels of experience. Several shows and classes sold out. Audiences who might come for one show embraced the festival and said "Yes, And... we'll stay for more shows!" so of course we had to say "Yes, And... we'll do it all again next year!"
