New Improv Classes!

Announcing the schedule for our next run of intermediate improv classes. Each session will look at a different type of skill. Sessions are designed with both shortform and longform improv scenes and games in mind. Improv classes start Saturday 11th October. You can book on the full course -- just £75! -- or attend on a drop-in basis paying £10 per session. Check out the schedule below or jump right into booking your spot here.

This course is designed to be taken multiple times. With a rolling curriculum of workshops covering a wide variety of skills, there is something for everyone. Please note; these sessions are not designed for total beginners so if you're new to improv we recommend you take our Foundation Improv course instead. Not sure which course is right you? Get in touch today.

Intermediate Improv Classes Starting October 2025:

OCTOBER 11th 2025 | GAMES AND SCENES with BRON EDGE & SEAN MASON

Welcome back! Work those muscles in this improv gym session! Whether you're new to the course, or returning after the summer break, learn how to play together in a fun and friendly way.

OCTOBER 18th 2025 | WELL DONE STAKES with SEAN MASON

What are the fundamental elements of a good scene? How can we raise the stakes to create tension and excitement, playing the moment and delivering on the "promise of your premise".

OCTOBER 25th 2025 | WANTS AND OBSTACLES with CHRIS TAVNER

Learn to give your characters strong wants and discover how obstacles drive richer stories. This workshop builds sharper storytelling instincts for both shortform and longform improv.

NOVEMBER 1st 2025 | SUPPORT WORK with KATE McCABE

This workshop will look at strategies for supporting from the sidelines without stealing focus from the scene or derailing the game.

NOVEMBER 15th 2025 | BIG CHARACTERS with JOHN COOPER

Using Jill Bernard's VAPAPO technique -- incorporating voice, attitude, physicality and more -- to create larger than life personalities, we'll look at how you can break out of "go to" characters and push yourself to explore new avenues of scene work.

NOVEMBER 22nd 2025 | GENERAL KNOWLEDGE ROUND with SEAN MASON

What happens when you take a suggestion and haven't got a clue what it is? What happens when your scene partner doesn't get your incredibly niche reference? We all know a little about a lot or a lot about a little but how can we utilise our skills and knowledge (or lack thereof) in scenes and games?

NOVEMBER 29th 2025 | GIBBERISH & GIBBERISH GAMES with BRON EDGE

Gibberish games are a staple of short form improv but some find them stressful! In this session we'll look at strategies for making sure games and scenes stay fun for audiences and improvisers alike and leave your fluent in your own made up language.

DECEMBER 6th 2025 | GAMES with BRON EDGE & SEAN MASON

It's the end of term and that means games! This class puts the skills you've developed over the past seven sessions into practice and sets you up for the workshop showcase!

First Summer Short Course On Sale!

We are delighted to announce that our first short course of the summer is now on sale! We're kicking things off with longform improv course called Mastering Montage.

MASTERING MONTAGE | 24th April - 8th May 2025 | £60

Focussing on the Armando format, this three week longform improv course will explore non-narrative, game based longform. Sessions will help you understand the format; identifying themes, playing with game, and making effective edits. We will look at how to maximise the potential of an idea, how to effectively support a scene and answer the question, "who is Armando, anyway?"

Some previous improv experience would be useful as this course will assume basic knowledge of core improv principles. The course will run Thursday evenings for three weeks (24th April, 1st May and 8th May) 7-9.30pm in the rehearsal rooms, New Adelphi Building, University of Salford. The course is capped at just 12 spaces so book early! This course will culminate with a showcase night at the Seven Oaks, Manchester on Thursday 15th May. Price includes non-refundable £15 deposit. The course will be led by Bron Edge and Sean Mason. Got questions about the course? Get in touch today.
