Festival Season Is Nearly Upon Us!

Festival season is nearly upon us and we’re delighted to be involved in some really exciting events this summer! We’ll be appearing at DEERSHED FESTIVAL 8 in June and we’re incredibly excited to be taking part in what promises to be a fantastic weekend of shows and workshops. Deershed is a weekend festival for families featuring comedy, music, arts, science, workshops, film, theatre, poetry and food. We’re really proud to have been asked to take part and hope to see you there! Tickets are on sale now and you can find the whole line-up of events at the Deershed website.

See, we can learn scripts too!

We’re also back at the GREATER MANCHESTER FRINGE FESTIVAL in July with Let’s See What Happens and Bang Bang. We’re also producing Auntie & Me, a darkly comedic play. Tickets are now on sale for all GM Fringe shows here.

Let’s See What Happens at the Greater Manchester Fringe!

Finally, we’ll once again be joining our friends at Laughing Horse Free Festival for the EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL this August. As always ComedySportz @ Edinburgh is a free show so no need to pre-book tickets however you can now pre-order your free Edinburgh Festival Guide here.

We’ll have more info on all the places you can see ComedySportz in Edinburgh in a couple of months.

Charity Show 27th May

We’re delighted to be joining an Evening of Entertainment in Llandudno Junction to raise money for the Ronald McDonald Foundation and the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at St. Mary’s Hospital in Manchester. We’ll be performing a short ComedySportz show and there will be music from I Fight Lions.

The event is the brainchild of our very own Lukas Kirkby who explains, “Both of these causes are very dear to my heart as my niece was born at only 23 weeks in December and is still fighting and getting stronger every day thanks to the amazing staff at St. Mary’s. My sister lives in North Wales and so it’s all thanks to the Ronald McDonald House charity that she could stay with her daughter and always be by her side.”

May 27th, 7.00pm – An Evening of Entertainment, Llandudno Junction Labour Club, Llandudno Junction. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased here or on the door.

9 Years of Laughs at Waterside Arts Centre

ComedySportz UK celebrates 9 years of off the cuff gags, games, sketches and songs at Waterside Arts Centre on Saturday 20th May!

Carly and Rob at Sale back in 2011!

“The Waterside Arts Centre is a great venue and the team have been really supportive over the years, helping the show grow it’s audience of loyal fans,” says Brainne Edge, CSzUK Manager and Founder who has taken the show across the UK and abroad. “No matter how far we take the show, the Waterside has become our home and we see so many regular faces of all ages.”

“Some of those fans won’t even have been born when we first brought the show to Sale,” adds Brainne. “But we try not to think about that too much.”

Rob, Steven and John in Sale 2017!

ComedySportz’s extremely popular brand of competitive comedy has made it a hit with parties and the audience is encouraged to get as involved as they like, from giving suggestions to volunteering for games.

Booking in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are £7/£5 and can be purchased online (visit our shows page for links) or via Sale Waterside box office 0161 912 5616.

Edinburgh 6th-12th August

We’re proud to once again be taking ComedySportz up to the Edinburgh Fringe festival as part of Laughing Horse Free Festival. We’re back at The Free Sisters (venue 272) for 7 nights at 7.30pm.

ComedySportz is a 30 year old organisation and we’re proud to be it’s representatives in the world’s biggest arts festival. The show is all about families, our global family and our audience.

Being part of the Free Festival is part of our mission statement too. We want to provide entertainment that anyone can enjoy without breaking the budget so that families can afford to see as many shows as possible.

Let us know if you’re going to be there by joining our Facebook Event!

Families with younger kids might want to check out Comedy4Kids shows and Huggers at The Free Sisters too as we’ll be making guest appearances during our time at the Fringe, as well as performing on the Royal Mile.  We’ll be posting online all the different places and times you can see us outside of our main show so keep an eye on Twitter and Facebook.

We’ll also be blogging throughout our time at the Edinburgh Fringe and we’ll flyering be out on the Royal Mile daily (so if you spot one of our players pop on over and give us a high five to make us feel better about our lives).
