17th Birthday Highlights!

A special thank you to everyone that came to our Birthday shows at Waterside Arts and Chorley Little Theatre. Everyone had lots of fun and we got plenty of weird and wonderful suggestions and very funny audience volunteers.

As you can see in the photo above, it was a closely fought contest over at Chorley Little Theatre but ultimately the Chorley team was victorious yet again... that make 17 years unbeaten! However the highlight of the match was undoubtedly when the Manchester team played Game-A-Matic...

 

We're approaching the end of 2018 but we still have a few shows left before the year is out. Tickets are going fast for our Improvised Pantomimes in December and we'll be doing two special ComedySportz shows at The Piece Hall in Halifax.

ComedySportz Improv Manchester Chorley

Sale 

We've a full day of shows and events lined up in Sale on Saturday 24th November.

We're delighted to announce that we've been asked to take part in the Christmas Light Switch On in Sale! There is a whole day of entertainment planned before the light switch on and we'll be taking to the stage at 12pm at the Square Shopping Centre. We celebrated 10 years at Waterside this year and are really excited to be taking part in the Switch On. Christmas officially starts here.

If that isn't enough for you, you can then wander over to the Waterside at 3pm for ComedySportz 4 Tots. This show is jam packed with BIG laughs for little kids with loads of silly songs and stories. Aimed at kids aged 6 and under, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the fun!

At 6.30pm we're back at the Waterside for November's ComedySportz match! Two teams will battle it out for your suggestions with quick-witted gags, games, sketches and songs.

Chorley

Also on Saturday 24th November we're excited to once again be returning to the venue where it all began - Chorley Little Theatre. It's a Chorley vs. Manchester grudge match special... who wins? You decide!

This is always a very special show for us, especially for players who have been with ComedySportz UK since we formed in 2001. The Chorley players have never lost on home turf... is this the year everything changes?

Doors open 7pm with the show starting at 7.30pm.

Workshops

This week also marks our last weekend of workshops for 2018 with final classes and showcase night for family and friends. We've really enjoyed working with all of our classes and hope to see them again in 2019.

ComedySportz 17th Birthday!

ComedySportz at Piece Hall this Christmas!

We've got one final festive treat lined up for 2018 with two shows in the fabulous Spiegeltent at Piece Hall in Halifax!

Never seen a ComedySportz match before? Two teams will battle it out for your laughter using quick-witted gags, games, sketches and songs inspired by your suggestions. There's a referee on hand to ensure a good clean match - it's a family friendly show after all - with penalties for bad behaviour and bad jokes. The show is lots of fun for all ages, from chuckling children to giggling grandparents.

As it's Christmas time we'll be sure to throw in a few festive themed games. There will also be plenty of opportunities to get involved in these all action, all improvised comedy shows.

ComedySportz Piece Hall Family Friendly Christmas

We were delighted to be asked back to the Spiegeltent after appearing at the Comedy for Kids show last year and there is a fantastic line up of events for families across the whole festive period. Piece Hall is wonderful venue packed full of great places to shop and eat - we might even do a little last minute Christmas shopping ourselves...

So if you're looking for something to do with the family over Christmas you don't want to miss ComedySportz at The Piece Hall!

Improvised Pantomime Returns!

We're only a few weeks away from the return of the ComedySportz Improvised Pantomime! OH YES WE ARE!

Each show will be a completely new adventure created from your suggestions and a little sprinkling of fairy dust. There will be heroes, villains and what we lovingly refer to as songs in this fond pastiche of the nation's favourite Christmas show - we might also throw in a few ComedySportz games for good measure.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to join in to help our heroes win the day... and every good villain needs a henchman!

Our improvised pantomime proved a real hit with audiences at the Waterside in 2017 and we're delighted to be back with more shows and more venues. With shows across Greater Manchester, there will be plenty of opportunities to catch these fantastically festive shows that are an alternative Christmas treat that the whole family can enjoy!
