New Adelphi Comedy Night

Bang Bang is now New Adelphi Comedy Night! We're delighted to be continuing our partnership with the University of Salford and their talented students.

Every month we're joined by a student improviser in a first half packed full of fast paced games and scenes. The second half is an open mic for Improv, sketch and stand up from the University's future faces of comedy and guest comics.

"I first saw ComedySportz when I was at Salford Uni and since then I've performed and taught workshops across the country and beyond," says ComedySportz player and Salford Alumni Sean Mason. "There are a number for ComedySportz players who are Salford graduates so it's great that we get to give a stage to new talent as well."

The show is open to all.

NEW YEAR! NEW GAMES! NEW WORKSHOPS!

Happy New Year from all of us at ComedySportz UK! It's only a few weeks until our first shows and workshops of 2018 (and all on one day too) and we hope to see you there!

We finished 2017 with a sold-out Saturday of Improvised pantomimes and can't wait to bring that show back bigger and better later this year. We were also featured by the Guardian in a great piece about the benefits of Improv Workshops on mental health. We're delighted that our workshops have had such a positive effect on so many people, whatever their reasons for taking a course.

Workshops have a real benefit on those that take them.

We're back at Waterside Arts 20th January with our now traditional New Year, New Games special as we try out a few new games as well as playing a few fan favourites. Earlier in the day we also have our first ComedySportz 4 Tots show with more BIG laughs for little kids. The week after we're back at Ramsbottom Civic Hall for more all ages, all action, all improvised competitive comedy shenanigans!

Anyone with a GENUINE mullet gets in free.

Improv Mullet is moving to The Kings Arms in February to replace Let's See What Happens. It's a show that combines the best of our shortform and longform comedy shows and we hope to build the show over the course of the year. To help promote the show, anyone with a GENUINE mullet gets in for free!

Our workshops in Improv, Stand Up and Sketch Writing return this month as well. If you made a new years resolution to laugh more, to play more, to build confidence, learn new skills that can be used both on and off stage, sharpen your comedic voice, brush up on those presentation skills or just to make new friends then we have workshops for you! Spaces are filling up fast so be sure to visit our workshops page for more information today.

Whatever your reason for taking a class with us you'll receive expert tutelage and have plenty of fun along the way!

We've got plenty planned for 2018 and can't wait to share it all with you!

Workshops For 2018

Whether you're looking to give the gift of comedy for Christmas or already planning you new year, new you resolutions to try something new it's not too late to get on our January 2018 courses in Improvisation, Stand Up and Sketch writing.

Spaces on our workshops can be gifted and make a fantastic Christmas present and we can send you a gift certificate to present on the day. Or, if you're looking to learn new skills, meet new people or just play more in 2018 then it's the perfect way to make good on those New Years resolutions.

Celebrating 16 Years of Laughs This Weekend!

Join us on Saturday November 25th as we celebrate our 16th Birthday with shows across the North West. As well as our regular ComedySportz and ComedySportz 4 Tots shows at the Waterside Arts Centre in Sale we're also back where it all began at Chorley Little Theatre for a special Chorley vs. Manchester match!

Starting in 2001, and only intended as a one-off event for Charity, we're so proud of all of our players past and present as we've taken the show across the UK and the US.

“We love coming home to Chorley and it’s always a really special show for us,” says ComedySportz UK founder and performer Brainne Edge. “The crowd are always so much fun and the night is going to be a lot of fun for everyone, even if you’ve never seen a ComedySportz show before.”

This birthday special will see original members of the troupe, some of whom have been part of the group since the very first show, battling it out against newer players from Manchester.

Of course, if Chorley is a little far for you we also have two shows at Waterside Arts Centre, where our regular shows are now based. First up we have ComedySportz 4 Tots, our brand new show for audiences under 6 with plenty of madcap storytelling, songs and silliness that promises plenty of BIG laughs for little kids. Later on we have our regular ComedySportz match and are delighted to be joined by a visiting player from ComedySportz Twin Cities!

We'd like to thank everyone for making the last 16 years such an absolute joy as we have performed and taught across the UK and the US. 2017 has been a fantastic year for ComedySportz and that is, as always, down to our fabulous audiences and workshoppers!
We hope you can join us at one of these shows and the next 16 years of shows to come!

Improvised Pantomime

Fed up of the same old Pantomimes every year? Put them behind you with our brand new Improvised Panto at the Waterside Arts Centre in Sale this December. See all your favourite panto characters types in a fabulous new pantomime made up before your eyes using only audience suggestions and a sprinkling of fairy dust.

It'll be a madcap evening of gags, sketches and songs as they give a new spin on classic panto archetypes and traditions. With a few fan favourite ComedySportz games and songs thrown in for good measure, no two shows are the same with this alternative festive treat that the whole family can enjoy. Don't miss out - book today!

We're performing 3 pantomimes this year and details and tickets can be found here or on our shows page.
