One Day Improvisation Workshop

 

On Saturday 30th AUGUST 2008 ComedySportz Manchester will be holding an Introduction To Improvisation one day course at The Comedy Store on Deansgate Locks in Manchester.

 

The course will run from 1pm until 6pm - bring a packed lunch ;)

 

If you've fancied dipping your toe into improvisation's beautiful clear-blue waters but never been quite sure where to start then this is for you.

If you've fancied attending one of our ten week improvisation courses but not been able to commit the time then this is for you.

If you want to get a feel for what we do before taking the plunge then this is for you.

If you're a stand-up comic that wants to build confidence in leaving the script from time to time then this is for you.

 

The day will consist of some basic exercises to get everyone relaxed and then plunge straight into taking your first steps on the path to improvisation brilliance.

You'll cover the basic principles of "Yes and...", accepting and making offers in scenes and many other skills.

The aim is to give you the confidence to take your first steps and whet your appetite for more.

 

The course will be run by Brainne Edge, one of the country's leading exponents of improvisation and ably assisted by Chris Brooker who is often quite useful as well.

 

The cost for the day is £60 payable on the day and included in the price are two tickets to see ComedySportz at The Comedy Store for any future date.

If you take the Introduction to Improvisation course you'll also get £10 off if you then decide to take the full ten-week course later in the year. In order to make sure everyone gets enough workshop time numbers will be strictly limited to twelve places.
